Photoshop Lessons.

I have currently had two sessions for the photoshop tutorial and have learnt a number of different methods to compose our film advertising. The lessons have helped a great deal and means that I will be able to create a more profession finish on the products that our groups complete throughout the course.#

Lesson 1

During our first lesson we learnt the different text methods and how to create a tailor made text graphic to suit our genre of film. Our first task was to open and set up the right size document for whatever we was going to create, we were able to adjust the pixels, colour and page size that we was going to be using during that particular session.

We was then asked to insert a picture of our choice that was quite a laborious task which involved a great deal of fiddling before it could be placed in the work area. The image I decided to use was of a dawn sky which contained rich, warm oranges and blue that created the right ambience for the text I wanted to add. I decided to go for a picture postcard effect as it reminded me of a late holiday to France where the sunsets were gorgeous. The text I added was the famous quote of "Wish You Was Here", which i believed was suitable for the setting.

Lesson 2

The second lesson that we were involved in was creating curves and adjusting the colours in certain areas of a picture (of our choice). For this image I decided to use a city/town location that was taken during the daylight hours, the image shows mountains fading into the background and a heavy bustling life of a town/city during the day.

When I had selected and added the picture into photoshop I then decided to use the "pipette" tool to select a colour from a certain area of  the picture. To the right of the image was a hill with subtle green grass that covered the area, however there was a patch of brown dirt on the image that i disliked and wanted to shade it in with the green grass to make the whole area grassed. So I scrolled over the navigation bar and selected the "pipette" tool from a range of different tools to create the perfect edited image. I moved over to the grass that was sitting on the hill and selected a colour that I believed was correct and most alike to the rest of surface area.

When the colour was selected I began using the paint tool and when over that I selected for painting, ever so often I zoomed out to make sure the colours matched and it did not look "edited" at all. After several attempts   I believed that it was correct and began editing the rest of the piece.
