What I have learnt?

During my research into posters for our specific genre I was able to determine that there are a number of ways to advertise the product. For example during my research into the Titanic the style was very contemporary and contained a cold edge. But this was perfect for the film as this was a real life incident in the 20th century and it is suppose to send out that image. Although the image of the two main characters above creates and enigma that allows the reader to create his own image of what it is going to be about until he/she has watched it. This poster is one of the most inspiring as at the end of this film is an unhappy ending which reflects this in the poster, the other posters that I have analysed are somewhat more happy with the colour and effects that the advertisers use.

I believe for the perfect poster we need to add an enigma and this can be created by a number of different ways, these include; photography, film title and the tag line that has been used. I can confidently say that I understand the narrative and plot of our film which allows me to start brainstorming our draft posters, it is important to make it look perfect and attention to detail is a must for the authenticity and other finish of the product.
